Aqdar World Summit Starts this Monday in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi – UAE, Saturday, 25 November, 2018:  Aqdar World Summit, the global event that discuses various topics in the field of sustainable development and human empowerment, is set to begin this Monday, 26 November 2018, in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre -ADNEC.

The second edition of Aqdar World Summit will be held under the theme “Role of Human Empowerment in Developing Stable Societies: Sustainable Development” and is expected to attract over 1,500 visitors and participants from the UAE and abroad. This unique event sheds the light over the pressing issues in the communities in line with the 17th Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations to be met in 2030. These goals will be discussed in details through the conference sessions and workshops.

The opening ceremony will include a key speech by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Cabinet Member – Minister of Tolerance; followed by seven main sessions for each of H.E. Nasser Juma Al Hamli, Cabinet Member and Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, H.E. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Cabinet Member and Minster of Community Development, H.E. Dr. Hatem Aly, Representative of the UNODC Office for GCC Countries, Dr. Boyan Radoykov, Chief of Section, Communication and Information Sector (UNESCO), H.E. Asma Hanna Khader Former Minister – CEO at SIGI and a Member of the Jordanian Senate, Dr. Faisal Mohammed Al Bakeri Advisor to the UAE Minister of Education, H.E. Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Dubai Council for Marine and Maritime Industries, H.E. Ahmed bin Ali Alhammadi, Senior Vice President – Etisalat Group, and Dr. Anne Catherine Speckhard , Director, International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism (ICSVE).

The summit will feature a number of activities in addition to an exhibition that runs in parallel to the scientific sessions and workshops, with more than 50 exhibitors, such as, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Community Development, National Archives, The Securities and Commodities Authority, Insurance Authority, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Khalifa Empowerment Program-Aqdar, Ahmad bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, Erada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation, Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Khalifa University, Ajman University, Aqdar Magazine, Moscow Global Forum, Aldar Properties, Timeline Technology Solution, Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition “DIHAD”, du, Innovation Arabia, SmartKiosk, SeekTeachers, and others.

Aqdar World Summit is an exceptional platform that hosts youth circles, scientific sessions, and specialized workshops presented by top-notch speakers and experts from the region and the world. The summit aims towards promoting the moral values between the individuals and communities as well as to support the awareness initiatives to achieve the summit’s main goal of “Nourishing Minds, Flourishing Nations”.

The 7 main sessions will discuss topics like Sheikh Zayed Strategies on Empowering People, Human Development for Economy Growth, Gender Parity for a Better Society, Sustainable Education for Flourishing Countries, Sustainable Goals and Successful Partnerships, Smart Infrastructure for Sustainable Nations, Building Countries on the Foundation of Justice and Peace.

The conference agenda includes 38 scientific papers and 4 youth circles, in addition to 38 speakers from a number of countries such as the United Arab Emirates, the United States, China, India, Russia, Kuwait, Germany, Singapore, Jordan and Egypt. It also includes 18 workshops that tackle various topics and run during the 3 day-event. The workshops will discuss topics like the Sustainable Data presented by the Ministry of Education and Erada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation, Foreseeing the Future Through Sustainable Development, presented by the Ministry of Education, Development Media and its role in Advancing the Society, represented by the National Media Council, The role of Education in Achieving Sustainable Development- UAE as a model, held by the Ministry of Education, My Journey: Back to Life after Addiction, presented by Erada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation, Youth Empowerment in an Ever-Changing World, held by Mentor Arabia, Zayed, Leader of Humanity, by the National Archives, Zayed, the Mind behind Establishing the UAE and Shaping its Union, presented by the Documents and Research Bureau and the National Archives, The Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy “the advantages and the benefits” by the Insurance Authority, and Be a Positive Friend that is presented by Hemaya.

Furthermore, the youth circles, organized by the Ministry of Interior Youth Council, include various titles and topics such youth and gender balance, the impact of economic growth on youth and finding the decent job, transferring knowledge on economic growth and youth, and youth and the continuous learning

Aqdar World Summit is considered one of the biggest forums that attract a number of local and international bodies to shed the light over the pressing topics of the community and offers the opportunity to exchange knowledge, visions, and experience.
